After pitching 4 pretty strong innings on Sunday, Ryan Rowland-Smith was dropped to AAA Tacoma Rainiers to make way for a putz - JJ Putz who was returning from the DL. It seems that he is supposedly being groomed to come back as a starter. While it must have been pretty disheartening, RRS seems to be taking it in his stride: "All I can do is pitch, go to Triple-A and work my ass off and give them no reason to keep me out of Seattle," he said. Meanwhile, Grant Balfour has continued his strong season. He pitched a clean inning on Tuesday against the A's.
